Removing Rust From a Carpet

Removing rust from a carpet
There are many products on the market today that is capable of removing rust from a carpet. The problem is whether or not that particular product is safe to use on the fibers in your rug.
Rugs consist of fibers such as nylon, nylon 66, polyester, olefin, or natural fibers like wool, silk, cotton, and jute. These fibers all have different tolerance for chemicals. Some can be exposed to alkaline some to acids and others cant tolerate either and should only be exposed to neutral-based chemicals.
All of your rust removers are acidic and therefore care and knowledge in applying this to certain fabrics is a must. Apply it to the wrong fabric without prior treatment to allow that fiber to accept that acid and you could very easily ruin it. After the application of any rust remover, the area must be rinsed. It also makes sense to ensure whatever the cause of the rust stain, that it has either been removed or dealt with to prevent it from reoccurring.
Feel safe and confident that Alecs Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning LLC can and will safely remove any of your rust stains without causing any harm to the carpet fibers themselves.
